My line of work has offered my family the opportunity to travel with me on many occasions. My sons, now aged 14 and 21, have therefore been privileged to be going on safari since a young age.
It has been one of the highlights of my career to share these special experiences with the people closest to me. I would love to help you plan and book your next family safari. There is something for everybody to enjoy, whether you’re young or slightly older!
Here are a few fond memories of my past trips to give you a taster of what to expect.
Seeing the animals is what it’s all about, and setting eyes on the white lion cubs at &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve was pure gold; as was seeing a male lion up close and personal at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.
While self-driving in the Pilanesberg National Park a herd of elephant decided to chase us, but luckily it all ended well with a relaxing ‘boerewors braai’ (sausage BBQ) at a picnic spot.
At &Beyond Phinda Homestead the elephants were much calmer and enjoyed to drink water from the swimming pool. We also saw many elephant while self-driving through Addo National Park.
The Garden Route is always special, with a stay at the Hog Hollow counting as one of my favourite memories, together with going on a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. In neighbouring Oudtshoorn we were rewarded with an early morning meerkat adventure, which made up for the freezing cold!
I also remember following wild dogs on a hunt at &Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve and a catch and release fishing trip on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe. And how could I ever forget the magnificent views, while flying over the Victoria Falls in a helicopter and the special birthday bush stop to celebrate with cake!
Let me help you to make your own special memories.
