The essence of the experience

Delight in an incredible, guided Bushman walk at &Beyond Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge. The Bushmen, also known as the San people, are one of the continents oldest inhabitants, with ancestral roots that trace back over 30 000 years. They are highly skilled hunter-gathers who use bows and poisoned arrows, traps, and throwing sticks, all fashioned out of raw materials found in the wilderness.

A traditional Bushman leads this exceptional half-day adventure, where guests are introduced to various hunting and survivalist techniques employed by the San Bushmen for centuries. The guided walk will be led by either a qualified guide or skilled tracker employed by the lodge.

This is an authentic cultural experience, using nature as a guide throughout the journey. Guests will have the opportunity to follow a Bushman as they interpret many natural phenomena along the walk. These findings often lead to a food source, be it game, wild vegetables, fruits, or even insects.

This activity needs to be pre-booked, before travel, and is subject to availability.
