From our greater impact model down to the tiniest detail of the activities that take place in our lodges every day, each decision that we make revolves around our core ethic of Care of the Land, Care of the Wildlife and Care of the People. These values have become an intuitive part of the way that we operate and have shaped our guest perceptions.
Taking less, giving more
We believe in taking less and giving more, and we apply this philosophy every day, through actions big and small, at each of our 29 lodges and 18 offices.
Whether it’s participating in the reintroduction of an endangered species like the black rhino, providing a market for local businesses to encourage community enterprise development, or simply recycling the vegetable peelings from our kitchens, we consciously look for ways to leave a positive legacy through all of our actions.
Our core conservation principles
- Care of the Land embraces our efficiency strategy, which aims to minimise our physical footprint and the impact that our operations have on land and ocean environments.
- Care of the Wildlife is defined in our conservation strategy, which includes the preservation of endangered species, both land and marine.
- Care of the People, the third leg of our core ethic, is our community development strategy which includes our partnership with Africa Foundation.
