Sossusvlei News – Extinct Waterfalls in the Naukluft Mountains

Sossusvlei has water – for the first time in many years.!  This  photograph was taken in the Naukluft Mountains, part of the catchment area of the rivers which bring water to the dune areas.

In the past, this was expalined to our guesrts as  a dry rock formation , called a Tuffa formation, or the  remains of an extinct waterfall.

This is an incredible site  and certainly has not been seen in our lifetime !
