When two Luxury Brands Meet – Hosting Louis Vuitton at &Beyond Mnemba

In September 2012, a Louis Vuitton team graced the shores &Beyond Mnemba Island, Zanzibar, for a high profile catalogue shoot (with 28 crew and 385 kg of exquisite clothing and accessories in tow).

A revered and highly respected global brand, Louis Vuitton is hailed for its sophisticated creations. This iconic brand is also world renowned for its passion for travel and sailing, therefore &Beyond Mnemba Island was the perfect location for the shoot.

It was a busy three days, but the crew managed enjoy the sandy barefoot luxury of the island. In true &Beyond style, the Mnemba family spoiled the crew at every turn from swimming with dolphins and watching turtle hatchlings emerge from their nests, to a decadent beach BBQ beneath a blanket of stars.

The Mnemba Island team welcomed these special guests with typical local hospitality, ensuring that the crew was happy, well fed and comfortable on this iconic private island.

Mnemba Island Lodge offers just ten simple but luxurious bandas hidden in a tropical beach forest, leading directly onto the beach. Private shaded Zanzibari beach beds are perfect for reading, sleeping or relaxing after diving or snorkeling in the vibrant coral reefs.

The island is also well known haven for a growing population of rare Ader’s duiker (the rarest antelope species in Africa), and Zanzibari suni antelope, which breed unhindered by predators.
