&Beyond launches exclusive sole-use safari villa

The Homestead at &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve, a luxurious sole-use safari villa in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, will welcome its first guests on 1 August 2009.

With just four elegant suites, The Homestead is ideal for families or small groups of up to eight people and offers the perfect safari experience for people wanting to reconnect with family and friends. It extends over 800m² and the use of glass, openness and a natural form seems to invite the bush inside. The personal touches and the warmth of a dedicated team of staff, including a private ranger, tracker, butler and chef are all characteristic of &Beyond ’s hospitality.

The exclusive use of an open 4x4 safari vehicle allows guests to choose the tempo of their day - game drives on &Beyond Phinda at any time of the day or night followed by either soaking up the sun next to the large rim-flow infinity pool, relaxing in the spacious sitting areas or, for the more energetic, spending time in the state-of-the art private gym or enjoying a bush walk with their ranger. An interactive kitchen provides for informal yet delicious family dining.  

&Beyond Phinda’s 23 000 hectares (56 800 acres) of pristine wilderness consists of seven distinct habitats offering incredible game viewing opportunities. In addition to twice-daily game drives, bush walks and river cruises, guests enjoy a range of exciting additional adventures, such as horse-riding, turtle viewing or scuba diving in the nearby Indian Ocean.  

&Beyond was a pioneer in responsible, sustainable tourism, and as such utmost care was taken when building The Homestead ensuring minimum negative environmental impact. No established trees were displaced during the construction of The Homestead, and guests can also rest assured of the positive contribution they are making towards local communities when they stay here.  

&Beyond has introduced a new sliding scale pricing structure for The Homestead, ensuring that private luxury in the heart of the African bush is now even more affordable than ever. Guests are able to book the villa for R25 000 during low season (for 1-4 guests per villa per night) or R35 000 (for 5-8 guests); and R35 000 during high season (1-4 guests) or R49 000 (5-8 guests).
