At School in Uganda
So when I was in Uganda last year – I met Sabina and decided to sponsor her through school – giving her the opportunity to be empolyable once qualified. Its been an interesting experience – as she is so far away. And easy to become quite detached – with the odd email and school report coming through from her guardian only. On her school report, English was her weakest subject – so I asked Arthur – her guardain to ask her to write to me. We could then get to know each other and her English Language skills would get better. I recently received the letter below, with pictures. My heart melted and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to make a difference in her life…
P.S. Still battling to get Arthur and Sabina to call me Melissa – and not Sponsor – its so formal…and their way of being respectful and polite
