A Very Unexpected Ending!
The rangers at &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge recently discovered a young female leopard up a tree with the remains of her impala kill. While sharing the sighting with guests, a female warthog and her tiny piglets passed through the bush, and the leopard quickly spotted them.
As rangers and guests watched in suspense, one piglet lagged behind and was cut off from its mother by the leopard. But to everyone’s amazement, the leopard spent the next hour playing with the piglet. She chased it, tackled it and gently held it down with her paw. In turn, the warthog had its own revenge by chasing the leopard, biting and head-butting her. After an hour of chasing each other around, the piglet managed to find a hole in the ground and disappeared. And so, a happy (and most unexpected) ending!
