Wild Dogs Return to Sandibe!
For a good part of the year, a pack of endangered African wild dogs roamed our Sandibe wilderness concession in Botswana. In April, however, they disappeared and it was suspected they moved to a remote location to den.
Last week they were spotted on the concession once again, much to our rangers’ and guests’ delight. The pack of 20 adults and 7 five-month-old puppies has been seen regularly by guests visiting &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge. Guide Speedy and his guests photographed the dogs crossing the water a mere 1 km from camp. The very next morning the pack chased an impala through camp and right past the dining area while guests were enjoying breakfast. They have also made several kills very close to camp providing plenty of excitement!
