Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day to bring.

Your journey begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport and ends at Dar es Salaam International Airport in Tanzania.

DAY 1 - 4: Lake Manyara National Park

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by a member of the &Beyond team who will assist you to your scheduled Tanganyika Flying Company flight to Manyara Airstrip. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by a representative from &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for your first game drive to the lodge.

Lake Manyara National Park offers a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Apart from a spectacular setting, the park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds it was established to protect. The shores of the lake, encrusted with pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of birds, many of them waterfowl or migrants. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe and impala roam the lake shores and the forested valley slopes. A Lake Manyara safari is a fascinating experience as the park also features a ground-water forest; acacia tortilis woodland and hot springs called Maji Moto.

Spend two nights at &Beyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.  Accommodation is in an elegant, stilted treehouse, which is cradled in the boughs of mahogany trees.  Your room is built of timber and makuti (palm fronds) and has a spacious sitting area, viewing deck and a lovely ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry and daily lodge activities.

DAY 4 - 5: Serengeti National Park

Say farewell to Lake Manyara as you are driven back to the airstrip for a flight to the Serengeti.

Tanzania's oldest national park, the Serengeti is famous as the site of the Great Migraation, during which an estimated three million antelope move across its vast plains. While this epic seasonal journey of wildebeest and other animals is a deeply moving experience, the Serengeti boasts exceptional resident wildlife year-round.

Taste classical safari life with three nights in an ensuite tent at &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas.

DAY 6 - 7: Ngorongoro Crater

This morning you will be driven back to the airstrip, from where you will fly back to Manyara airstrip. A member of the &Beyond team will be waiting to welcome you and drive you to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Known for its spectacular beauty and excellent game viewing, the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is a dramatic and romantic safari destination. Once a gigantic volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater is now the largest intact caldera in the world. Nearly three million years old, it shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. Black rhino are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephant wander the forests, black-maned lion stalk the grasslands and flamingo crowd the soda lakes.

Indulge in two nights in a sumptuously romantic suite at &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge.

DAY 8 - 10: &Beyond Mnemba Island

Return to Manyara Airstrip for the final time and board a flight to Zanzibar Airport via Arusha. On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will drive you across the island of Zanzibar for a boat ride to &Beyond Mnemba Island.

Deep blue ocean waters and pristine white beaches make &Beyond Mnemba Island into a private tropical paradise. While the dazzling sands and brilliant sunshine invite you to spend idle hours on shore, magnificent coral reefs create an underwater wonderland that lures you to explore a world of incredible sea creatures while snorkelling or scuba diving.

Linger for three nights in a Zanzibari-themed banda at &Beyond Mnemba Island Lodge.

DAY 11: Departure

A short boat trip to the mainland is followed by the drive back to Zanzibar Airport, from where a flight will take you to Dar es Salaam Domestic Airport. A member of the &Beyond team will help you to the international terminal, where your adventure with us will end.
