Beaches & Bunkers Golfing Safari

Beaches & Bunkers Golfing Safaris

Combine golden beaches and balmy seas with spectacular golf courses on South Africa’s subtropical Indian Ocean coastline. Rolling mountains, dozens of rivers flowing into the sea and beautiful stretches of beach, along with the region’s mild climate, create an ideal setting for keen golfers - expect immaculate greens and rolling fairways.

Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.

This safari begins and ends at King Shaka International Airport in Durban.

DAY 1: Natal coast

On arrival at King Shaka International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by a member of the &Beyond team, who will help you with the collection of your rental vehicle.

Known as the Coast of Dreams, the Natal Coast is a popular holiday destination. With wide, golden beaches, a beautiful coastline lined with dense green forests and hundreds of lagoons, a myriad rivers and streams run into the sea. Home to vervet monkeys, wild pigs, mambas, pythons and adders, the forests are alive with birdsong.

Relax for three nights in a luxury ensuite room at Selborne Hotel, Spa & Golf Estate. Your stay includes breakfast.

DAY 2: Natal coast

Enjoy 18 holes of golf at Selborne Golf Club.

With manicured fairways among breathtaking scenery and coastal forests, the Selborne Golf Club is a picturesque and challenging course. Bush buck, grey duiker and rare blue duiker may venture onto the course, while monkeys and birds keep an eye on the golfers from the lush foliage of the indigenous trees and stately palms that line the fairways.

DAY 3: Natal coast

Indulge in another 18 holes of gold at the Wild Coast Sun Country Club.

Situated along the magnificent Wild Coast, this dramatic coastal course is interesting and challenging, with some unforgettable features. The fairways are wide, with truly spectacular views of the sea and countryside, particularly from the 12th hole.

DAY 4 - 5: Umhlanga

After a scrumptious breakfast, you will drive to Umhlanga.

Umhlanga is a mecca for sun lovers and watersport enthusiasts. It boasts world-class boutique stores and superlative shopping centres, as well as a wonderful selection of eateries and attractions such as the Natal Sharks Board and professional golf courses. Watersports include scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, surfing and dolphin viewing.

Spend three nights in a standard ensuite room at the Teremok Marine. Your stay includes breakfast.

DAY 6: Umhlanga

Relax with 18 holes of golf at the Durban Country Club.

With its dense bush, indigenous trees and undulating fairways, this semi-links course is carved into the dunes along the shores of the Indian Ocean. A scenic and demanding course, it consists of elevated tees and greens guarded by an array of tropical bushes, tall trees and large bunkers. Together with the narrow fairways and steep slopes, this makes for a challenging course geared toward the more experienced golfer.

DAY 7: Departure

After tucking into a delicious breakfast, wave a fond farewell to KwaZulu-Natal as you drive to King Shaka International Airport, where your adventure with us will end.
