The Africa Foundation is part of ensuring that this boundless generosity is returned to the communities to support them and help them thrive. We are the essential link between &Beyond 's guests, the conservation areas where &Beyond operates and the people in the communities surrounding those areas.

The Foundation uses funding received from &Beyond and its guests, supplemented by support from the Africa Foundation in the UK and USA, to address the communities' needs, thereby ensuring they benefit from and support the ethos of conservation. We believe in creating long-term partnerships that make a real difference in the lives of people in rural Africa, while also supporting wildlife conservation. By ensuring that the communities living in and around conservation areas understand and benefit from conservation, we win vital support in protecting Africa's threatened ecosystems.

While we believe that conservation is essential to preserve the continent's wild places, we also understand that it is equally important to consider the needs of the people who inhabit these wild places and make conservation worthwhile for them.

With the support of &Beyond and its guests, as well as the Africa Foundation, the Africa Foundation operates in communities surrounding &Beyond 's wilderness lodges in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
