A Taste of Grumeti
To complement &Beyond Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp’s elegant new look, Regional Chef Trainer for Tanzania, Jonestha Moths, has been hard at work with Grumeti’s expert chefs to add new flair to the dining experience as well.
Here’s just a taste of what’s on offer: American style pancakes with fresh fruit and honey; scones with strawberry jam; Indian spiced chickpea cakes with cucumber raita; roasted sweet potatoes with vegan chilli and cashew cream; green curried chicken with lychee sambal; coconut and cardamom panna cotta served with a passionfruit-rum dressing; and sinful chocolate brownies with chocolate fudge sauce.
At bush dinners, the simple yet innovative Wonderbags are now being used to keep meals piping hot. These non-electric, brightly-coloured bags act as heat-retaining slow cookers that can keep food hot for up to eight hours without the use of additional electricity or fuel. Portable, safe, environmentally-friendly, and created in South Africa using shwe-shwe fabric, the Wonderbag has revolutionised our dining experience.
